im fourteen, turning fifteen this year, and my parents still treat me like im five years old. they wont let me walk down town with my friends. they wont let me walk to the skate park to hang out with friends. they wont let me sleep over at a friend’s house, and they wont let any of my friends sleep over at my house. i dont get to go to my friend’s houses, ever. the only place they basically let me go is to youth groups. they will only let my boyfriend and i see eachother three days per week. as in we hang out on monday, then sometime during that week, and we cant hang out again til monday. and we only hang out for like 2-3 hours. they wont allow me to go to his house, we’ve been dating for 10 months and i’ve only been there once, and i had to sneak over there. she wouldnt even let me go, when his mom personally came to our house to ask if i could go over for diner. it’s ridiculous! they wont let me wear short-shorts in public. they wont allow me to go down town every saturday to this thing called ‘club heat’. where you have to be fourteen, there is no alcohol there, all my friends would be there, when you get there they do a medal detector on you so you wont have any weapons, it’s completely safe! i never get outta the house. and they always complain about how im always bored. well it’s their fault, i dont get why they are so da(m)n strict):

That’s the way it should be. That is called good parenting. Spending the night at friends houses is not a good idea at all. It can bring serious problems. If they have you controlled it is for your own good. Especially now that you are still a minor.

Maybe they want you to focus on learning the correct spelling of metal instead.
Same thing was happening to me, and hey, this might not be the best advice to give a 14 year old girl… but you know what I did? I completely rebelled against them, until the point where they gave up and let me do whatever I wanted, they didn’t care anymore what I was doing, eventually I got kicked out of home and lived with my bestfriend for 2 months, then they wanted me back…
I came back, and now everything is amazing, i’m really close with them, and I feel it was a lesson we both needed to learn.
Now I am 17, and I am allowed to do whatever I want, and have been able to since I was 14. (within reason) aslong as I always have my mobile on me and tell them where I’m going, trust is a big thing in a parents/teenagers situation.
If you don’t want to do it to the extent of what I just explained above, try talking to them about it and explain to them that you need some time out and say how you’re going to get there/who’s going to be there/ all of the details, and I’m sure if you get some backup from your aunties or uncles or cousins, they will be influenced by your other family members opinions.

ha from club heat i can tell you live in the pittsburgh area.. i live here too, but listen i JUST turned 15 and my parents are ridiculious. you NEED to have a talk with them, you have to some how convince them that they can trust you, and once you convince them behave yourself for awhile so you won’t screw it up and then they loose alllllll their trust in you. Just be like mom dad, why can’t you trust me! play the guilt game for a little. They probably don’t want you going to that club because it can be grounchy.. i’ve never been to club heat, but i’ve been to club zoo, and it’s stright up Whiteee trash. IF your parents let you go, you have to wear something appropriate so you don’t look like a stright up slut to them, they know that they probably keep it alcohol and weapon safe, but there WILL be drug deals right by the doors, and there will be girls grinding on some guys dick looking completely discusting. you have to make your way to freedom, you just have to go bit by bit, maybe start by going to a friends house, saying that your mom can talk to thier mom, My mom STILL does it, with my ex boyfriend, it was so embarrassing but atleast i got to hang out with himm.Also , be like mom didn’t you have a boyfriend ,don’t you have to see him, my mom hates me with guys, her motto is " i don’t trust anyone with a penis around you" its gay, but guys alll think alike, but you have to to get them wrapped around your finger. Get your moms trust, and just don’t mess it up, i wish i could talk to her personally, i’ve been a BAD kid in my past but i made a complete 360 and i’ve changed, i use to go out and hookup with guys lie, drink etc, but i would ALWAYS get caught. always, i have a older sister who would tell on me for everything, i haven’t done anything this summer because i’m so scared to get caughtt! Anyways, tell your mom that she can trust you and you want to prove to her, tell her that every kid needs freedom, and she has to start by giving you a little bit more of a leash to go out and stuff. I would say your parents are doing a little much. I mean you are fourteen. You are not a five year old, but you can get pregnant, if you are not careful, which is their biggest fear in the whole world beyond anything else that is going through their minds. I’d say talk to them about your feelings. Tell them that you know what you are supposed to be doing and that you won’t get pregnant, because you won’t have sex with a guy until you are old enough to take care of a child. That’s all.
Because they love you so much to see you do reckless stuffs. Don’t worry my parents are the same way too.:)
