so here’s the thing…

i was an AFROTC cadet 2 years ago and when we filled out all the paper work i mentioned that i had smoked marijuana a few times in high school. you know, just the typical reckless highschool/peer pressure stuff. it was nothing serious, and not chronic. i wasn’t a pothead, and in fact, i don’t like it. after that i was put on a type of probationary period. i ended up quitting before this period was over, and i’m not sure if they were goin to kick me out or not. so my files were terminated as far as i know.

2 years later, i decide to join up again. after reseraching, a lot of people say to just lie and never mention any use of illegal drugs, etc. so this time when filling out the paperwork, i put thtat i never smoked marijuana.

now i need to do a DoDmerb to go to AFROTC Field Training. it asks if i ever used marijuana, and drank alcohol. i have, but nothing serious. in fact, i’ve never been drunk before. the most i got was a buzz. but i’m not 21 yet. I’m afraid if i turn this in with a lie on it that it will bite me in the ass later down the road if they do that whole fabled lie detector thing if you want security clearance (they ask if you used marijuana before. you can tell the truth to the lie detector, but if you lied on your dodmerb then wtf..)

anyway.
so my predicament is that i’m worried if i tell the truth then i will be disqualified to be in the military. also, it wouldn’t be consistent with the afrotc paper work where i said i never used marijuana. but if i continue this lie, i’m afraid that it might get me later down the road and i will get kicked out for an integrity violation or something..

what should i do??
the problem is, my new paper work says that i never smoked marijuana and its already in! but the old paper work, that i’m not sure if they destroyed or not, says i did.
*– CORDELIA –* so are you saying that i should just stay consistent with the story that i NEVER used marijuana? (please reply by editing your answer)
