Deciding on a laptop for high-school.. my birthday is coming up so my mom is thinking about getting me a laptop for my birthday, and is wondering what is more useful because of the $.

I can’t decide between the Apple Mac Book (9) or the HP Laptop (9).

Mac comes with iLife, which is all the writing/powerpoints stuff.
Also, it comes with iTunes and Garageband, and I have an iPod. Therefore, needing iTunes..

HP is a less expensive laptop, with Microsoft Works.

Both laptops have webcams !

Soo, should I spend more money for the nicer one, or go with the one that has the basic "needs"?

Thank ya!
Please just choose between my two options! No asus’s, etc.

Should I get a HP Mini Netbook or a Ipod Touch 3rd generation 8GB?

My Mom wants to get me the Laptop and so does my Dad but I am not sure.

I am unsure whether to get a HP Touchpad or just wait for the Asus eee Pad 2, Amazon tablet to be released.

I don’t want to get a iPad as when I tried out my cousins I felt it was just a big iPod Touch, which i already have and feel it is too limited as to what you can do on it. Whereas I feel Android is more open on what you can do.

I recently bought a Hannspree Hannspad which i thought was really good until it froze and had to restored to the factory settings a couple of times, I got feed up so i returned it and am now looking for a more expensive Android tablet.

I liked the look of the HP Touchpad because it looked good for the price it is at now, but trying to find one at a cheap price it proving close to impossible. I don’t want to buy off random people off eBay because of lack of customer support.

The Asus eee has really good reviews, and with the 2nd generation being released supposedly this month, which is supposed to be a lot better the 1st generation tablet I am tempted to wait a little bit longer to get one when its released.

I am unsure on the Amazon tablet as I can imagine it being like a touch/colour screen Kindle, don’t get me wrong the Kindle is a great device its just I am not into reading books.

So what do you guys think i should do?

P.S I do love Apple products but at the moment I can’t afford a iPad being a 17 year old student.

My birthday is coming up very shortly & I’m gonna be getting a laptop from my parents!
I will mainly be using it for web surfing, email, video editing, saving pics to my laptop(they take up alot of disk space), etc. I don’t do much gaming at all.
I’d been searching online for some of the best laptops & my mom mentioned a few such as "MacInTosh, Apple, Gateway, HP, Dell.
I looked at a few choices particularly HP, however, the problem I noticed with HP, was that alot of them didn’t have the CD/DVD drive that I would need in order to burn my CDs/transfer CD music to my Ipod Shuffle.

I’m seriously considering on getting a Dell, since I’ve seen/heard they are quite good & possibly have what I would need!!!

So… my question is.. for anyone who particularly owns a laptop… What would be the best laptop for me to get for my birthday as far as what I’ve mentioned above, meaning… really good for video editing amongst other things, etc. & that will have enough memory, etc. for professional like vids??
Thanks!!

I will be using my laptop for basic tasks and I will not be doing any gaming. Which one would you recommend and why? (Dell comes with accidental damage warranty but Macbook doesn’t).

I’ve had my ipod touch for over a year now, and I’ve been plugging it in to charge, and downloaded my music from a Windows Vista computer. Today I got myself a new macbook pro. I was just wondering, since this is an apple computer and I used to use Windows (HP), will my music be deleted if I try to charge it, or put music on from my macbook?

so i have this HP computer that was running really slow and my whole family was using it so i decided to buy myself a new MacBook, by Apple. but my iPod Touch was synced with the HP iTunes and i don’t know how to switch it to the iTunes in my Mac because it always says that syncing it with this computer will erase all the files in my iPod, and i dont want this to happen. so, is there any way to switch my iPod to this iTunes library and keep all my old stuff with it?

I need a laptop for college.
I saw the thing on apple when u buy a laptop u get a free ipod touch
so are the mac laptops good or should i go with a Dell, Toshiba, Gateway, HP?
If you know anything about laptops and have any good advice for me on getting a good one, that holds lots of music, pictures, fast internet, and papers. Let me know!

Thanx in advance ♥Turtle

When I go to my account on my HP PC it says can not access my account.
On the computer we have another older mp3 player a Sansa using Rhapsody no problem.

What happened to my itunes library?
I had a whole library of music on my ipod now I can not find it.
I wanted to copy more music from a few CD’s I had borrowed from a friend.
I was forced to copy them to widows media player.

Thank for your advice.
Got a external hard drive.
Apple is a control freak- they only let you back up on one computer; they consider my external hard drive another computer.
It made the files disappear from my one and only computer and went on the external hard drive.
