I am going to enter college as a computer science major next year. I want an idea of which computer will best serve my needs. I have always had a PC, so I am very familiar with Windows 7. I like the look of the new Macbook Pros and their reputation for just working, there are many days that I want to throw my HP notebook out the window. If I get a Macbook I will use BootCamp to run Windows 7 when I need it. I am a little hesitant to step out of my comfort zone and get a Macbook, but I love my other Apple products, an iPhone 4, an iPod Classic. The main thing that I like about Windows is that it is very open compared to Mac OS X and it is familiar. I am mainly interested in the ThinkPad W510 and the 15 inch Macbook Pro. I am not a big fan of the ThinkPad’s design.
Which one do you guys think would be the best one for programming, taking to class, and the occasional game?
